I’m not sure just how he’s got himself situated in there, but I can confirm that these trucks have tons of room under the hood. Even on my ’95 Sierra, I can get to a lot of things while sitting down with my feet resting on the engine mounts. Definitely one of my favorite vehicles to wrench on.

I’m on the short side, so I have to sit or crouch in the engine bay to reach most things.

Yeah, there’re some things that are a stretch for me too. I had to replace my distributor last year, and of course it’s all the way back by the firewall. But messing with, say, the TBI is easy-peasy! The tricky part is finding places to rest my tools while I work.

My brother owns a 90-something Sierra SLE. Those are some good trucks.
